Labour cuts roads & pavements budget

Yes, we feared the worst. After seven years when the Lib Dem council started to make up for years of neglect by the old Labour council, one of
the first acts of the new Labour council is to cut our budgets for improving roads and pavements. We can expect to see less next year, and what's more some of our money is being transferred to "more deprived" areas of the city. What on earth has deprivation got to do with roads and pavements we ask? Each part of the city deserves its fair share, we say.
