Liberal Democrats beat Tories to regain seat in Battle, Sussex, election

17 Jul 2015

Battle residents re-elected Liberal Democrat Kevin Dixon to the Battle Town Ward seat on Rother District Council which he lost to the Conservatives on May 7th.

Kevin polled a resounding 58% with 751 votes to the Conservatives' 342, with Ukip and Labour gaining 107 and 100 respectively.

Huge credit to Kevin and his family, and to Jeremy and Cllr Kathryn Field who orchestrated this campaign, and to the Bexhill and Battle members and friends who picked themselves up after the ravages of May 7th, licked their wounds, and came to support this intensive fightback. Thanks also to our neighbours from Hastings and Rye, and to those of no political persuasion who know a good councillor when they see one and came to help.

Kathryn Field says, "It will be wonderful to be able to work again with Kevin on Rother DC for the people of Battle ."
