Making our streets, cleane, greener and safer

Residents strongly support the Lib Dem focus on making our residential areas cleaner, greener,
and safer. £20m invested for repairing roads and pavements is making a difference and a further
£14m is allocated over the next 3 years.

Neighbourhood response teams act quickly to remove graffiti and ensure our streets are kept clean, and the active recycling programme has massively reduced waste going into landfill.

Effective partnership working between the Council , Police and Safe Newcastle staff has helped to reduce crime rates year on year making Newcastle one of the safest big cities in the country.
