Newcastle Lib Dems launch our 2011 election manifesto

Newcastle Liberal Democrats have launched our Manifesto for the upcoming Council elections on May 5th.

Councillor David Faulkner, city council leader, said: "The Lib Dems have transformed the way the Council runs, in the 7 years we have been in power. We have made the Council far more efficienct, and kept our promise to keep Council Tax rises below inflation for every one of those 7 years. We have devolved power and budgets to local ward level, and allocated far more to street cleaning, recycling and road resurfacing. Educational results are improving significantly, and Newcastle has won the prestigious award of the UK's Greenest City for both 2009 and 2010. Of course there's plenty still to do, and we're asking voters to continue backing our success in May's Council elections."

Our manifesto can be found in the 'Downloads' section of this website.
