Positive action on litter, mess and fly-tipping

27 Mar 2011

Extra resources have been put into Lemington to help tackle the problem of litter and fly-tipping. Council workers from several wards have been sent to clean up the area at the top of Union Hall Road and Community
Payback Teams have been assigned to clear up other areas of Lemington.

Lemington Councillor Lawrence Hunter said "We have had a lot of complaints lately about the amount of litter and dog mess in the Ward. We've had to put in extra help to clear it up, and we're determined to solve the problem. We've used spot fines and we're ready to prosecute people if they keep causing these problems by dumping litter or allowing their dog to foul public footpaths and open spaces."
