Splashing news at Fenham Pool

29 Mar 2011

In order to help Fenham Pool reduce its energy costs and carbon footprint your local Lib Dem councillors in Blakelaw and Fenham wards have agreed to jointly invest Ward funds in new photo-voltaic panels for
the Pool roof to generate solar power.

Residents will remember how our popular local facility was closed down under Labour, but was then given the support needed to reopen as a Trust under the Lib Dems. The pool has gone from strength to strength
under its new management arrangements and is even more valued by local people.

"The Pool is a vital part of our community and it's great that in addition to being community-owned it is supporting health and wellbeing and promoting greener energy" said Fenham Councillor Mitzi Emery on a recent visit.
